Financial Assistance for Eviction & Utility Shut-off Prevention

In an effort to help keep people in their homes, the Financial Assistance program has limited funds available to provide up to $600 to prevent evictions and utility shut-off.
Our financial application process uses a lottery system that randomly selects applicants when we have more applications than our monthly budget allows.
Applications are accepted from the 5th through the 15th of every month, and you will be contacted after the 15th informing you whether you have been selected or not. Each household is eligible to receive assistance two times in a 12 month period with a maximum of $600 each time. To qualify for financial assistance, you must live in the following zip codes: 98125, 98133, 98155, 98177.

To apply virtually, please fill out this application form. This link will start working on the first day of the application date. You’ll need to upload the following documents:
1) For Rent:
Copy of your picture ID
Copy of pay or vacate notice, or a current ledger verifying past due rent balance, or written communication from landlord indicating there is back rent owed.
Copy of the first page of lease agreement.
2) For Utilities:
A shut off notice or a bill with a balance larger than $500.
Copy of your picture ID.
3) For Move-in Costs:
An acceptance letter from the property manager or a signed lease.
Copy of your picture ID.
Community Connectors
In addition to providing financial assistance, our Community Connectors are available to work with all who access services at North Helpline.
